There is a growing gender imbalance in many parts of heavily industrialized nations, where the births of baby boys have been declining for many years. Much dramatically startling is the number of real men going extinct due to an increasing number of gays sprouting like mushrooms much because of media's portraiture on homosexuals. Gays had been a laughing matter for most Filipinos but they are generally well very much accepted by the Filipino public where no serious hate crimes or violence had occurred compared to other countries. Actually, Philippines have unusually high concentration of male homosexuals in the world. Visitors to the Philippines have in their mind we Filipinos openly tolerate male homosexuality as they see cross-dressing gays swishing down the streets and shrieking their heads off on television sitcoms and variety shows with flaming impunity. In addition, we are the only nation who has the most number of local government-sponsored gay beauty pageants and still gay group are crying discrimination calling for more rights. No other country in the world offers such a high degree of tolerance for homosexuals. Philippine gay homosexuals are unique in Asia because they can live much more openly than gays in any other Asian country, where Filipino gays are encouraged by either parents or friends to embrace it. In fact, it is very rare to see a non-LGBT Philippine movie released without a gay character included while Hollywood movies can survive without one unless the character is required in a LGBT film or needed sensationally.
In liberated countries, you can see only gays on gay communities or secluded area but in the Philippines, they are everywhere. In other countries, particularly in the United States, a gay guy can only go out with another gay guy, where their growth is insignificant. Compared to the Philippines, where gays are reproduced on an alarmingly rate for the reason that gay guys only go out with straight guys; there is a possibility this kind of setup will affect straight guys' sexual identity and possible homosexual proliferation. In fact, there is a consensus on the estimated number of “males who have sex with males” (MSMs) in the Philippines, from 379,799 to 804,280. This is according to the 2005 HIV Estimates in the Philippines, a consensus report released by the DOH, WHO, the United Nations Joint Programme on the HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), and the Field Epidemiology Training Program Alumni Foundation.
On our study, on an average public high school class of 59 (DepEd SY 2006-2007) with a gender ratio of 50/50 (NSO Statistics), 29.5 of the students are male. On a 'common' sightings of 6 gays per classroom, young gays comprises more or less 20% of young male population 13 to 17 years old or 10% of the young student population on secondary public schools. There are a lot more but due to the strict catholic upbringing of families, some of them stay in the closet, including the bisexual males. Even if gay population is not over taking the hetero-male population, it is still alarmingly increasing. But what is very alarming is the fact that there is a growing number of men admitting that they are more sexually satisfied with gays than women, hinting they much preferred man-to-man relationships.
About SMP:
Primarily, we are not discriminating homosexuality. Our main concern is media's role on the growing numbers of young gays in the Philippines. We are protesting the unneeded portraiture of gay homosexuals on TV particularly on prime time hours depicting effeminacy (particularly on children show), man-to-man relationship particularly man-to-man kissing (from drama anthologies and movie trailers of growing independent gay films), and unnecessary cross-dressing on non-LBGT films for the sake of comedy. We are not against gay’s role in the entertainment industry unless they are not effeminizing more than necessary, as anything too much can wreak havoc to our social values.
What we require is child protection for our male children from media, influencing his natural sexual identity, orientation, and behavior. What we require is a provision of rights of children to be raised by their biological mother and father. While heterosexuals have tried to indoctrinate our children about any sexual issues other than to identify sexual abuse and how to report any such instances, many children at a young age are beginning to be indoctrinated by media that gay homosexuals are different & distinct from a boy and being a gay is morally upright. Why must media and politicians try to influence our children's innocence? Gays are alarmingly getting younger and younger in each year due to media's characterization.
The fundamental role or primary sole function of sex and the sexual organs is reproduction and NOT sexual satisfaction alone.
